Next Serial of STKCore(TM) 12-14 Sep, Ottawa


(Winnipeg) – We are now almost a quarter into this fiscal year and a couple of weeks after the Canadian Government released its latest Defence Policy – an ambitious document portending to expand the military budget some 70% over 10 years. In particular, it states specific support to surveillance from (Radarsat Constellation Mission) and of space (Sapphire, Surveillance of Space 2), as well as indicates an intention to outfit the 3 services with unmanned aerial vehicles or drones.  Let us also not forget the part about acquiring satellite communications for the Arctic!

Choosing the right assets as well as the sensor packages for those assets is a delicate operation, especially when one considers how inter-operable and inter-dependent the services have become over the years. Regrettably, there are still ‘stovepipes’ and ‘sacred cows’ and incredible obstacles to achieving innovation in defence acquisition. Fortunately, there are systems and system of systems analytical tools like Systems Toolkit (STK) that can help answer some of the questions regarding multi-domain mission effectiveness.

AppSpace Solutions Inc will be hosting its next serial of STKCore(TM) Training during the period of 12-14 Sep 2017 in Ottawa.  This is an opportunity for project scientists, analysts and operators to get some hands-on this toolset so that they can leverage it for developing their mission concepts and, more importantly, communicating them to their stakeholders. So, while it is promising that Canada’s military has the government support to acquire new systems, it is helpful to leverage modeling, simulation and analysis technology to work towards getting the best capabilities at the best price.
